Actor Kevin Spacey has said the much talked about Facebook feature film could begin shooting this year.
Over the last few months, bloggers around the web have been talking about the possibility of a Facebook movie. Based on Ben Mezrich's book, The Accidental Millionaires, the movie is reportedly titled The Social Network and Kevin Spacey, who starred in an adaptation of Mezrich's "21" and is said to be producing The Social Network, says that shooting could begin as early as this year.
Speaking to MTV, Spacey said of The Social Network, "We're at a very early stage. But I think it's on the fast track. I think the film — they want to do it and maybe even do it this year." Spacey went on to say that he has no idea who will star in the movie. "So it's gonna happen. But I have no clue as to who may be in it, because ultimately that will be [up to] the director."
Rumor has it that Fight Club director David Fincher could be in the running to direct the movie but Spacey maintained that they have yet to name a director.

What now, a Facebook movie?
Are they making a freaking movie about everything that generates money?
It'll be like "You've Got Mail" but more annoying.
Oh my god

I can't believe this. No, really, I can't. This will have to suck.
Next up, the Amazon.com movie!
By the time this movie is done, Facebook will be dead like how Myspace is now.
Seriously, Hollywood needs to die. They are hampering both creativity and art while in pursuit of maximum profit. They dumb down and stupidify everything in order to satisfy common denominator of the mass. Only when Hollywood is in the tomb, the talents it absorbs and abuses can be released to either new movie industry norm or other entertainment segments such as video game, TV and local theatrical performance.
What has happened to the movie industry?
Facebook Movie? Really...?
Sounds like a ridiculous idea.
(first)
I want a newegg movie!! That would rule!
I want a newegg movie!! That would rule!
A newegg documentary would be interesting, especially if they had a day-to-day kind of thing.
BBS the time life miniseries
Facebook the movie... so you make a movie about a website? Ummmm, boring? Either that or it will follow a bunch of Orange County The Hills wannabes.
It sounds incredibly stupid in practice but I have faith in the talent behind it to come up with something interesting to watch.
sigh~
It'll be like "You've Got Mail" but more annoying.
Haha ! Nice one.
Since the movie industry is going down, then let's help them get way down !! How about Ebay The Movie: Auctions Unsleashed or Twitter: The Last Follower...oh wait, they are capable of doing some sort of TV show named MySpace and his friends.
Ok now seriously. It would be kind of nice to see some 1 hour documentary (well I wouldn't complain if it was a mockumentary either) and straight to tv about the FB growth, pros, cons or simply put, some interesting facts. But Damn, a full length featured movie....gees. Well now I will not be surprised if someone is planning a movie about Linden Lab's Second Life.
Well let's see...
I wonder what angle they will use. Will it follow the creators, like Pirates of Silicon Valley, will it be an action movie, in the style of The Net(CIA or FBI using it to spy on ppl), or will it be a hopelessly romantic new You got mail movie.
Facebook might be a good tropic to cover in order to get money for production, but I predict fail. Still I could be wrong.
WTF
If David Fincher - Seven, Alien 3, The Game, Panic Room, Zodiac - is directing the movie, it may turn out to be a very well made. Don't be so prejudiced.
Be careful, Uwe Boll might have his revenge by directing this movie. because he couldn't direct or produce World of Warcraft
How about TomsHardware.com the movie! Titled “The Nvidia backhanders conspiracy”
If the movie's directed properly, I'm sure it could be good. No story starts off bad enough that people can't make it into a good movie (though most fail).
I wait for the South Park Parady of Facebook first
