Dell has begun offering its recently introduced Studio laptop series covered with art created by Brooklyn-based artist Mike Ming.
Five different designs are available for the Studio 15 and 17 models.
The notebooks are priced from $819, which represents a $70 premium over a comparable non-Mike Ming Studio laptop.

Whether or not the artwork will give the laptop any additional street cred remains to be seen.

They're working on that, but color E-ink is still extraordinarily expensive, especially at that size. Plus it adds additional bulk, is limited in its shape, and its color saturation and contrast are limited, so it won't have the same visual impact as printed/molded artwork.
