Cuban Line Up To Buy Their First Mobile Phones

Havana (Cuba) - Thousands of Cubans are lining up at state-owned telephone offices to buy their first mobile phones. Previously available to only tourists and government officials, the phones will be too costly for most Cubans. The average monthly wage is $18 while the cheapest phone costs approximately $65 - you do the math.

Since taking the reins as President in February, Raul Castro has instituted several free-market style reforms including allowing residents to own DVD players and computers.
