11. Splitfish FragFX Shark
The holiday season is fast approaching, and we've got the perfect list of gifts for the gamer in your family (even if that person is you).
There are a few reasons why PC gamers prefer their platform to gaming on a console, and using a mouse and keyboard is probably the most obvious. When it comes to RTS and FPS titles, nothing beats the speed and accuracy of a mouse, especially not a standard Xbox 360 or PS3 controller.
Enter the FragFX Shark from Splitfish, a unique control setup that promises to change console gaming forever. The Shark combines a specialized mouse with an analog stick controller, giving you the best of both worlds. The mouse works like one would think, giving you the looking experience you would get on the PC. The PS3’s action buttons rest right under your thumb, giving you six buttons and a scroll wheel. The nunchuk-looking wireless controller that compliments the mouse gives you an analog stick to move with as well as a few extra buttons to assign as you please.
Moving with the joystick and looking with the mouse takes some getting used to (especially if you’re coming from a standard console controller) but the end result will have you grinning from ear to ear. The Shark is also wireless and operates on standard AA batteries, and will work with your PS3 or your PC.
While it doesn’t totally replace my mouse and keyboard, the Shark is the best way to play FPS titles on your PS3, hands down. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you get used to the controls, those kill streaks will be stacking up like hotcakes in Black Ops, for sure.

Toy soldier? I don't see that in any of them. But they all certainly look very gorgeous.
The girls are cute, but the purpose to the spread is to show off new products. I need a magnifying glass to see the products. The photographer should look at the past spreads, far superior photo shots.
I had the HS1 on my Christmas list. But my old set completely gave out, and HS1 was on sale at Frys for $79.99., I rushed down there right away. Loving them!!

Odd picks on the mouse/keyboard front imo...
The Lachesis is great and it's ambidextrous, but it's only comfortable to hold when you use a fingertip/claw grip and how many gamers manage to game for long periods holding their mouse like that? The Deathadder seems like a more logical pick - cheaper, exists in both left and right handed version and arguably one of the most comfortable gaming mice out there, no matter how you hold your mouse.
For the keyboard, I never liked the Steelseries keyboards (too cramped and it just doesn't feel as nice as many competitors + I prefer mechanical keyboards), but that's purely a personal opinion. I just think you should list a few alternatives as well.
And to finish: maybe add a set of speakers to the list too? Many people like to game with speakers rather than headset, especially in single player. Plus, you'll likely need them if you use your PC for more than just gaming.

...and all of those things you listed aren't coming out this year...but we (or Hardware) will be sure to cover them in 2011! Believe me when I say I cannot wait for Deus Ex 3.
