Las Vegas (NV) - Every year at CES, we find a concept that is really just on display for concept’s sake, and something that blurs the line between reality and sci-fi. That product this year was the Lumus glasses.

You may be familiar with those high-tech visors that bring up a virtual 72" screen right in front of your face. Well, the Lumus can do that, but it can do much more.

It has the ability to connect to the Internet to allow users to check e-mail, watch live TV, and even browse the Web. Also, are you strolling around the Las Vegas strip trying to find the CES convention? These glasses can bring up a GPS overlay to give you visual directions while you’re walking. It’s literally like "Minority Report" in real life.

They’re not sunglasses. In fact, they’re not tinted at all so it is just like wearing normal glasses, except the working unit on display had a frame that’s a bit thicker than you might be used to.

As mentioned, though, this is just a technology concept. Right now to work it requires a physical link connection to a Web-enabled cell phone or computer. Lumus is at CES trying to secure hardware, software, and distribution partners. There’s no word yet on when you’ll be able to get your John Anderton on.
