Fremont (CA) - Best Buy expanded its EeePC portfolio with two Windows XP versions of the cheap notebook. The price remains the same: $399.99.
Best Buy is offering the Windows version in either a black (stores and online) or white (online only) casing. As before, the EeePC is available only in the 4G (4 GB flash SSD) configuration and runs on a 900 MHz Intel Celeron M processor and 512 MB of DDR2 memory.
The EeePC comes with a 7" screen (800 x 480 pixel resolution) as well as integrated Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity.
Last week, Asus announced its second-generation EeePC, which has an 8.9" screen (1024 x 600 pixel resolution), SSDs with 12 or 20 GB capacity as well as a 1.3-megapixel webcam. The new EeePC continues to use Intel’s 900 MHz Celeron M processor.
