42. Gaming Battery Lifetimes

To determine how long the battery would hold out during a gaming session, we ran four game demos from 3DMark05 in an endless loop, using each display's native resolution setting. The graphics processor and video RAM clock rates were set to the maximum values inside the graphics drivers. Our analysis follows the charts of results obtained.

Analysis Of Results

Because the Acer Aspire 5672WLMi has the weakest and therefore also the least power-hungry graphics subsystem in our test group, it came out ahead in this test series. The Aurora M7700 lands in second place, thanks to its throttled-back CPU at 1.2 GHz when running on battery power. In addition its 98Wh battery stores about 40 percent more energy than the batteries in the Asus and Hewlett Packard notebooks. But you also shouldn't forget that the slow CPU clock rate on the Aurora M7700 on battery power also translates into severely diminished 3D gaming performance.

Oblivion has got to be the best MMORGP I have ever played. WOW can not compare to how well the game fells and plays. The Ups: Awsome Graphics is a complete understatement, the game offers vanity mode and 1st person vew, costomizeable characters, and loads of weapons and quests and guilds. The Downs: Glitchy combat when rendering wolves and dogs... and thats it... BUY THE DAMN THING... YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!!!!!
