28. Neovia NEO26DT: Breaking The 1,000 Euro Barrier?

Neovia is an innovative manufacturer that is going all out to make the most of integration and convergence. For example, they already offer a 20" TV with a built-in DivX player.

Here, Neovia offers a product that's a little less revolutionary, but has an enormous advantage over its competitors: price. At an average street price of 1,100 euros, it's one of the cheapest 26" sets on the market. Some stores are even selling it at under 1,000 euros. That's more of a psychological threshold than anything else, but it might also be the sweet spot that will popularize LCD technology with the general public.

But still, that has to be put into perspective. 1,000 euros is cheap for an LCD TV, but it's still 200 euros more than a top-of-the-line 30" CRT set. So the quality had better be there!

Unfortunately though, the unit is not presently available in the U.S.
