Verizon wireless webpage question

Is there any way to figure out how many minutes I used?

When I look it up on the verizon wireless webpage I can see peak minutes but
that includes other things like mobile-to-mobile calls which don't count.

On the webpage have you tried clicking on minutes used since last bill, or
just dialing #MIN (Some markets use #BAL and get both a balance and minutes)
on your phone?

Yes, like I said before this includes mobile-to-mobile minutes.

I basically want to know if there is any way I can see the minutes that I am
being charged for. I get 300 a month and 1000 mobile-to-mobile, so where can
I see the minutes I used that count towards my 300.

The answer to that is yes. When you first login to the website, you will see
all zeros as minutes used. Once you click on something like account summary,
on the right hand side you will see (actually graphics in a box, converted
to text for posting here) something like:
Unbilled Details
Check used minutes & balance since your last bill.
Minutes: View
Balance: View

Click on view
For minutes you will see something like (edited to delete my personal info)
Unbilled Usage

Select MTN to display summary 410-xxx-xxxx

Peak Minutes: 0
Off Peak Minutes: 0
Weekend Minutes: 0
IN-Network Calling Peak: 0
IN-Network Calling Off Peak: 0

This is an estimate of the minutes used since your last invoice date.
This estimate was updated within the last 24 hours.
This estimate may not include roaming airtime.
Your calling plan may include additional monthly minutes, such as special
promotions,
that have not been deducted from this estimate.
==============================================
For balance, you will see something like:
Current Balance *

Recent Activity

Current Balance: $50.24
Last Payment Amount: $99.63
Last Payment Date: 04/06/2004

* Payments are applied to your account on the day of the transaction.
Please note, your balance may not reflect any credits or adjustments made to
your account
until your next billing statement.
=======================================
If you don't click on something like account summary it will always show
zero. You must pick something to view first, you won't see anything except
zeros.

(My bill came out 2 days ago, so nothing has been added in, but if I make a
call, it shows pretty quick. You MUST click on any of the detail pages or it
will always show zero on the main page you first go to.

Michael,

I don't know if different billing areas give access to different web pages,
but when I access my account, under Phone & Usage Details, peak minutes does
NOT include anything other than what you are looking for. The off peak,
in-network calling peak and in-network calling off peak buckets contain
those minutes. If that is not the case for you, you might give CS a call to
see what is going on.

Does everyone get mobile-to-mobile minutes? In-Network shows up as 0 on my
account although I know most of my minutes have been used calling another
verizon wireless person.

Yours must be messed up then or your area of the country is different. Where
are you located? I'm in Colorado and mine shows up just like Peter Pan
mentioned.

The problem I have is that they show TOO MANY categories. I mean how many
years now have they packaged Nights and Weekends together for billing, but
they still list their minutes separately. Who needs them separate? I just
want to know how many billable minutes I've used and how many Non-billable.
They also list In-Network Peak and In-Network Off peak. Who cares if you're
Peak or Off Peak In-Network?? They're all free. When, oh when, will they
quit listing so many different non-billable minute categories??? Just lump
all the non-billable minutes together please.

.....I know I shouldn't complain about 'too much detail' on my bill and the
website. Just a pet peeve and this thread gives me a chance to wine. Maybe
they could just add totals for billable and non-billable and leave all the
individual minute categories if they feel someone cares to see that...

Many people, have older contracts (still in force) that ONLY have free
weekends. There are plans that have different amounts of M2M (now
In-Network) peak minutes. They used to be like only 500/1000 minutes Handy
for businesses to know if people use there free minutes for work or play.

Not all plans bundle Nights and Weekends together. My National Single
Rate plan has a 3500-minute weekend promotion. It does not include
Night/Off-peak. So for that phone, the "Off Peak" bucket is part of my
plan minutes, and the "weekend" bucket is "free".

And I have two phones on an old AC Family Share plan. It does not
include N/W on the primary phone, so the N/W buckets on this one come
out of my plan minutes. Why don't I upgrade it? What's wierd is that
is that *other* phone in the share does have a N/W package which starts
at 8pm. If I added N/W to the one phone I would have to get a current
Family Share plan, the other phone would lose the 8pm off-peak start.

Well, thank you and Peter for informing me about this. But I still wish
they'd also put a total of non-billable/free minutes so I could see
billable and non-billable totals easier.

Calling plans over $39.95 get free in network. If that applies, call cs
and have them add that free feature.

There are a gazillion rate plans, especially when you consider you can
keep old rate plans which are no longer offered... Some people don't
like to change plans. So the calculation as to what is billable and
which is not is not really known until billing is run and a specific
rate plan applied.

On top of that, there are actually two different billing systems so
bills can even look a little different depending on where you are.

Or they could use these marvellous inventions called "computers"
which can calculate bilions of things a second and make their best
guess :)

The dr offers: many new plans include in-network, but not all. There are
now $39.95/mo promotional LDC plans that do "not" include any n/we or
in-network, and we have National Single Rate. So, to the base question:
does everyone get mobile-to-mobile minutes (in-network)? No: It depends on
the plan you have, and for clarification, best you check either your billing
statement, go on-line to my-account, or talk to an agent/customer service
for assistance.
