I've been looking at phones lately (re: my motorola post here).

Are Samsung phones bad ? I've had a couple of people tell me that
the reception was poor. They are nice and compact, but are they any
good ?

Thanks,

I can only speak for the s307 ... reception average at best, and featureless

Try the Samsung X427. It's currently free with Cingular.
I like it because the reception and sound quality are good. It's got a nice
color screen and it's very light and compact. Battery life is also
excellent.

My corporate rep, who has never let me down, warned me away from the
427. He's had a dozen come back within the last month or so.

He highly recommends the Motorola V400, as well as the Samsung 307. He
said to wait a month; there will be price drops on those phones, as new
ones are right around the corner.

I would take ANYTHING a corporate rep said with a grain of salt.

They have ulterior motives driven by marketing concerns, and what their
boss told them this morning. i.e. "Joe - we need to move some of those
crummy Samsung 307s"

Well, accept that some are WAY better than others.

Mine is a *professional* in the business, and I have 3 years experience
with him. He's never steered me wrong, and he's taken care of me when I
needed it. Period.

Kewl - sounds like the exception that proves the rule. You're lucky.
