I presently have an i90 nextel and a v.60 which I put my Nextel sim
card in when I travel overseas. The setup works pretty good. I am
considering purchasing a new phone, and was thinking about the i830
when it comes out next week.
I heard the i830 will be both iDEN and GSM compatable, so I could
use it in the US and overseas. Has anyone heard whether this is true?
If the i830 is not dual band, I am looking for a suggestion. The
sim card from the i730 and the i830 will not work in my v.60 because
the new sim cards are 64K units. So if I upgrade to the new phone, I
will not have a sim card for the v.60 phone when I go overseas.
Any thoughts on a solution where I can have the GSM phone work when
I travel, and an 830 or 730 work when I am domestic?
Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

The i830 is an iDEN only phone and itn't GSM capable. The i930 which
is supposed to be released late this year (December?)is going to be
considered their worldphone and will be GSM capable.
Here are the specs on the i830:
