How do you tell the difference between a T720 and T730?

I was told by verizon my phone is T730 but underneath the battery is:

MOT 78503 46/03

FCC ID iHDT56CG1 EE3

CANADA: 1090-T720C

There are a few minor mechanical differences between the T720 and
T730 (such as the wiring to the display, I believe), but they run
identical software. T720s can be updated to T730 software. Even the
T730 faceplates can be used on the T720, with a little work (or so I
have heard). Getting the updated software takes care of 99% of the
"problems" with the T720.

From your local Verizon store. It's free, but you might have to leave
the phone or wait for them. The actual upgrade seems to take them less
than 20 minutes.

What does the upgrade do?

It removes most if not all of the stability and performance problems of the
T720.

Some time around Sat, 19 Jun 2004 14:46:31 GMT (give or take a month), someone who says they are
named Strongbox <strongbox@no.mail> fired up the tubes on the teletype and rambled on about:

I still had problems after upgrading. They sent me a LG phone as a replacement.

Also enables Get It Now to use National Access (a.k.a. Express Network,
1xRTT) data, and enables extended messaging service (EMS), which allow
cute icons and fonts in text messages. And a somewhat newer version of
the BREW (GetItNow) runtime, which allows it to run more apps.
