Motorola's website has a t730c model, which looks pretty good - tri mode,
color screen -- basically looks like a good flip type motorola telephone
without camera or other useless frills, and decent battery life, and they
say on the motorola site that its a verizonwireless phone.

But, its not listed on the verizon site.

I wrote to verizon's site and they say its not compatible. Is that a lie?

Can this phone be used on Verizon's service as motorola's website says?

I really need to keep using verizon (I am in NY city where the other
services really are bad) but I hate the horrible phone selection offered by
verizon now. I am still using a v60i and want better.

Any ideas? I want try mode and everything else seems like moving backwards.

They are full of it. VZ sold T730c's until recently. I think they just
want you to buy one of the new "toys" they are offering.

Check around. You might still find one at a local VZ store or through one
of their resellers like Radio Shack. eBay also has them listed, both used
and new.

FWIW, I have one and it works great!

VZW authorized agents in the SF Bay Area in California still sell the
T730c... saw an ad in the newspaper this morning. The GSM version of
the T730 is not compatible with VZW, but the T730c certainly is.

Try Radio Shack - They are an authorized Verizon reseller and still carry
the T730 at a pretty good price.

I just bought a T730C on ebay for less than $100 and activated myself
on VZW website and it works great.
