Could someone please tell me if Verizon has a good service in Gettysburg area?
Some people mentioned that both Verizon and AT&T might have a good coverage there
but I would like to be sure before I sign any contract. My Sprint phone did not
work well when I visited there last month maybe because the phone was old or the
coverage was not good... Thank you in advance.

My mother has had good service when visiting gettysburg with her v120e
and NSR plan. No luck with her old nokia 5185i - but that was the
phone's fault.

I've kinda concluded her old 5185i's 1.9ghz doesn't work at all.

The last time I was in Gettysburg, PA the VZW service there was fine,
all digital and no dropped calls.

Cassie,

I reside 8 miles north of Gettysburg, PA.

Verizon Wireless (CDMA) and AT&T Wireless (TDMA) offer excellent
digital coverage in and immediately outside of Gettysburg, PA.

In the rural areas, Verizon Wirless (CDMA) and AT&T Wireless (TDMA)
digital coverage is fair. In my opinion, AT&T Wireless GSM digital
coverage is poor. Also, in my opinion, AT&T Wireless provides TDMA
digital signal covering more of the rural square miles surrounding
Gettysburg, PA, than Verizon Wireless provides CDMA digital coverage.

AT&T TDMA is dead. Getting them to sell you or maintain TDMA hardware
is nearly impossible - they push GSM, then sell you some GSM toyphone to
sit on their highly incomplete GSM network, then you're pissed off for
the length of your contract then you tell AT&T to stuff it up their asses.

All in the name of more call capacity that rural customers don't need.
I'm sure Gettysburg ran out of TDMA timeslots every day (much sarcasm)!

Interesting - I'm in Harrisburg and have had both ATTWS and now Verizon and
find that the coverage is slightly better with Verizon. And I do travel in
the mountains a lot...
