All of a sudden when I use the OEM charger plug in on the bottom of the
phone the phone turns on instead of charging. My wife and I have the same
phone and always have an extra battery in a base charger at home so I
rarely use it. Once in a while I get caught short and need to use the
OEM charger at work. Any idea's??

On mine (a v120e) it was a sign the power/data connector was falling apart.

Next up: the repeated "unable to charge" messages.... Reconnect it 14
times, it might work. Then it refuses to charge and it turns into a 3
ounce boat anchor.

I've seen this on my v120c and 120e once in a while, but never on my
v60s (then again, most of the time I charge it, its already on.

I used a V60i for two years . It is almost the same as the V60s. I
found that at times my phone would turn on when plugging in the
charger. Most of the time this did not happen.

In my experience I found that if my aim was a little off the phone
would turn on. Once I got the feel of plugging in the charger
correctly this hardly happened. Some of the chargers can be a little
"touchy"

My daughter complained that her charger wouldn't work either. I
switched mine with hers and I had no problems with it.

If this is not the case with you have Verizon check it out.

Sometimes the pins soldering onto the board become loose and break
(more common on pre-V60S and V60P phones as their ports are stronger).
Cleaning the surface of the connector and the pins on the charger that
mate to the port can help. Sometimes, liquid damage causes
charging/powering on issues. If that is the case, it's time to replace
it.

Supposedly the batteries should be able to prevent overcharging, but I
guess you do have to be careful.
