my gf has a kyriocera (spelling?) kx414 w/ some nation plan for verizon. is
there anyway to block certain phone numbers from calling and texting her?
she has an ex boyfriend w/ a restraining order and he keeps harassing her.
any ideas would be appreciated, with violence not being the answer :)

You sound like a quiche-eating liberal--- not having the stones to step up
and clock the guy while wanting others to solve your problem/clean up your
mess;-)

I believe there is a way to block text messages on vtext.com, but I do not
think you can block someone from calling you. I would suggest changing the
number if it is that bad.

Begin Ryan Douglas quote:

Does the phone keep a record of incoming calls and txts? If so, and if
the originating number is traced to the ex's, bring that info to the
courts. If the restraining order includes all contact, then he is in
violation of the order and that is an actionable offence.

I have been able to block text messages via Verizon's website. But phone
numbers ... no. VZW suggests a change in phone number to achieve that.

If you're having difficulty with the same person calling from the same number, I've been told by VZW customer service reps that they have the ability to block certain numbers. My wife, whose kept getting wrong numbers (8-10 a day, every day) was also given the option of changing her number at no charge. I think if you get the right service rep, they would be willing to work with you to help your girlfriend out.

Hope this helps.

How about 1.99 for one of those ringtones that are dead silent? Put the
butthead in the phonebook and assign the silent ringtone to his entry.

The first cell company that comes with number blocking will do very
well as this seems to be a feature that a lot of people want. I would
definitely go with a company that had something like this. This is
much more important to me than txt messaging or fancy ring tones.

If a restraining order is in effect, why not just have him charged
with violation of that order?
