I just realized that I should now post here not just on ATTWS newsgroup.
So this is a duplicate of a posting there.

Has anyone used their Cingular GSM phone in Norther Michigan? If so,
how is the reception/coverage?

Most interested in area from Traverse City to Pellston.

I have an ATT TDMA phone that is starting to fail and I'd like to find
out if GSM is now an option.

Thanks for any information.

PS I realize the map shows GSM coverage in this area but I'd prefer
customer experience.

I don't have experience with that stretch of Northern Mi, I am from
Southern Mi. and travel a lot around other northern areas and can say you
will be without service in may areas if you are GSM only. That is why I'm
sticking with my Gait phone for the foreseeable future. That map is
bull$hit.
