While I don't mind signing with VZW for 2 years (as I believe unless they go
to h*e*l*l in a hand basket, I will stay with them for the duration), I
don't want wed to a phone after the warranty expires. In either 9/3 or
10/3, I bought a 4400 at Circuit City with the 3 year service agreement.
Well, last Friday I "just loved" my 4400--as the weekend has progressed, I
am really looking forward to getting a 6100 tomorrow (of course, my 4400 did
drop a call yesterday (in my house and I wasn't moving--bars showing: 3),
making my "divorce" a bit easier :). I've heard so many stories here of
people getting "screwed" by being stuck in a NE2 program and having to pay
full retail for a phone (or mess with Ebay, etc.) because they can't get a
discounted phone from VZW for 10 or less more months (after the warranty
expires).

What happens, at worst, if I re-sign using NE2 and my phone croaks after 12
months? Will they charge me to go back to my 4400 for the duration?

Thanks for any responses.

Sorry I'm so wordy................Janie

The only time VZW charges you on a phone change is when you buy a new
one from them.

Your post doesn't make any sense either.

It makes perfect sense.

"What happens if I re-sign and get a new phone using NE2, and have to
re-activate the old phone? Will they charge me?"

Not if you do the swap on the website; maybe, if you do the swap at the store.

Thanks, Steve. You're always so nice and able to "cut through" my l-o-n-g
explanations and answer what I'm attempting to ask!
