I'm thinking about getting an Ipaq 4350. I'd like to be able to
manage cisco routers and other similar devices with the pocket pc.
I've found software that will allow me to do this but can't seem to
locate an adequate pocket pc to db9 cable for sale. The sync cables
cannot be used for this. Are cables like this for sale or do I have
to roll my own? I saw a posting a while back about making serial
cables for an Axim a while back but I would prefer to purchase one if
possible. I have a cheapo soldering iron and no one to borrow a nice
one from so my solder jobs would be really sloppy :-/.

Itend to do the same with my iPAQ 5555. Beat's the heck out of lugging out
my laptop just to connect (it's a bit old & heavy)

Thanks for the links! Expansys has exactly what I was looking for!
Odd, though, that a null modem cable is twice as much as a plain
serial cable with a null modem adapter :-|.

Is it just me or is the site at www.supplynet.com a bit hard to
navigate if you just want to browse? I was only able to find
auto-sync cables or mobile to pda cables on supplynet.

Bevo, you are deffinately onto something building your own cables :).
I probably would if I had the time and the soldering iron for it.
Probably not worth buying a nice one for just one cable tho. Let me
know if you ever decide to sell cables.

The Supply Net is difficult to navigate. I was able to get an iPAQ serial
Cable (bottom of iPAQ to DB9) by choosing a PPC to GPS cable. It is just a
serial cable and works great in conjunction with the null modem cable that
came with the router.

If you get a serial sync cable for your iPaq, you can convert the
cable to a standard RS232 cable with a null modem adapter and a male
to female gender changer. No need to solder anything - just buy about
$8 worth of adapters at any computer supply store.
