Where do I make choice to synch Notes as Notes or as Files

HELP | NOTES | SYNCHRONIZING NOTES states, "Notes can be synchronized between your PC
and device either through notes synchronizaton or file synchronization."

It goes on to say that notes synching puts Notes in Outlook. File synching puts them
on your desktop in a My Documents folder.

I recall making a choices, but cannot find them now. I thought I had picked Notes
synching, but I find that there is a PDA My Documents folder on my desktop, with the
same folders in it as are in Notes on the Ax3i. Unfortunately, none of my notes in
the folders on the Ax3i are in the folders on the PC desktop.

Anyway, sure hope someone can tell me where to make the choice.

TIA

At your computer, open ActiveSync and press the Options button. Then choose
(by checking the checkbox) Notes and/or Files.

Thanks, Helio. I'm pretty new to this, but what you say doesn't sound right to me.
I believe you can have both notes, and files unrelated to NOTES, on the PDA. You can
synch both to Outlook. Where you directed me to is where you choose if you want to
synch both Files and Notes to Outlook.

If you'll reread my OP, you'll see that Notes can be synched either as notes or
files. I asked where one makes this choice.

At http://BevHoward.com/ASync.htm#Notes there is a pretty clear
explanation of what (I think) is happening and an awkward procedure to
switch from notes that are currently being synced as files.

If I have notes checked, they get synced with outlook. If I don't have
notes checked, but have files checked, the notes get saved as files on my
local system that I can then open with Word.

What you say makes sense; however, it implies that if you have files and
notes on your PDA and you want to synch both to a PC, you then have no
choice about how Notes would be synched, because you will have files AND
notes checked. Right?

I'm fairly sure that I found the selection option for notes elsewhere.
