Hi,

Am having unlimited problems with MSN on WM2003, I installed the update
recommended by MS and it now comes up with an error "Username or password
incorrect, check or contact MSN" that's obviously the nearest meaning, does
anyone have solution to this on-going problem, once again please don't send
me the link for MS update, I already installed it.

Thanks.

1. Can you perform any other net task like browse the web or retrieve/send
email? Just checking that your unnamed device has network access.

2. Do you have a new or new-ish device? Perhaps the patch is already
installed. Try removing the MSN Messenger patch.

Did you restore from a backup taken with the old rom after upgrading? If
yes, you have corrupted the encryption files/settings on the device which
would explain why MSN is unable to log you on... Can you sign-on into
hotmail using PIE?

Hi,

I don't understand what you mean there, this is fresh upgrade from PPC2002
to WM2003 using a geniune CD I bought from HP, but I can log on Hotmail no
problems.

Any other ideas?

I was having the same problem, until I entered my name and password using
the keyboard method of input instead of the transcriber or letter
recognizer. I was sure they were both entered correctly the other way,
several times, but who knows.

Give the keyboard a quick try if you haven't already.

Thanks for your message, I have tried that and also tried using a foldable
keyboard still had no joy. Am thinking of reverting to Pocket PC 2002, way
more reliable.

After doing some research, I found MSN messenger is very sensitive on DATE
setting. After I flash my rom, the date was wrongfully set to year 2003
which I didn't notice. So MSN keep giving me "service not available" error.
And once I set correct date about that. everything is fine.

I think you might be describing my problem. Just updated
the ROM (X3i). I can't log into hotmail either

Any way to fix the encryption files?
