No Power On via buttons?

Got an Ipaq 3870 and it works fine, except..... I'd like to disable the
thing from being turned On (no pun intended) by any of the buttons on the
unit except the power button. It keeps getting turned on either in my pocket
or fanny pack during normal jostling. Is there a command/setting that will
not allow the buttons to turn the unit on?? Seems I remember something but
can't find it any more.

So if you disable the buttons, how will you turn it on?

Maybe you should consider picking up a case for it. If you are that hard on
it that the bottons get pressed, don't you think that you are at risk of
damaging the display?

Did you try Start/Settings/Buttons (or maybe Power)?

I wouldn't really put the PocketPC into the fanny pack. It might get
damaged by the big chunk of metal that's also in there.

button.

there is an app called Key Guard
http/www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1079 that does just that.
when active a little padlock appears in the system tray and you just tap to
activate or de-activate the buttons, works great

I know that they aren't 3870s, but my 2215 and 4155 (both iPAQs) have a tab
under the button control panel called LOCK. That is where you disable the
app buttons in standby.
