Best GPS for HP 2215

I see that there was a "reply" on this subject--but only one? At any rate,
I'm looking for the best value GPS for my HP2215. I'm looking for a great
out-of-the-box experience. In my ideal world, I would order this product
today, receive it tomorrow, play with it a day, and successfully use it on
my next trip--which is next week. Key features would include:

> Portability. As I need this for business travel, I'm looking for the
lightest and least amount of stuff to haul around. E.g. power, cables,
mounts etc. I'm assuming Bluetooth is the best way to go? Uses would
include car travel and walking in cities like S.F. and London.

I have added a Pharos GPS receiver to my DELL Axim X5
(versions specific to HP also availble) ppc. There are
various Pharos GPS types, The one I got comes with GPS
receiver that could be either connected to the PDA
directly through a CF Card adpater (included in package)
of connect to the pda through an extension cable (also
included). the idea is that you would use the cable if
you need to position the receiver in place with open path
to the sky. I have never used the cable so far since I
always connect the reciver throught the CF card adapter.
A Blue tooth version is also available. The package also
include PDA holder and acharger for use in car. Maps have
to be downloaded into the pda before you could use them.
Maps size vary depending on the size of the State and
most of the times you will need to have more than one map
open at the same time to be able to calculate Routing.
you could open up tp 10 maps at a time. I have an
addtional 256MB SD card designated for maps only on which
I have map of the Northeast States up to Deleware and
Ohio (MA,MN,VT,RI,CT,NY,NJ,NH). the systems work very
very well and with good level of street detail and
accuracy. The system will calcualtes rout, give turn-by-
turn direction with alerts just prior to approaching a
turn, the program also will alter you if you go of route
and will automatically recalculates a new rout to get you
back on track. I highly recommend the system, and the
best part is that it was gonna cost me $2000 dollar to
have a navigation system installed on my 2004 Honda
Accoord, I got Pharos for only $199.99 including taxes +
shipping and I could use it in my car, my friends car,
bycle and even walking.

Google my previous posts on my experiences with ALK Pocket
Copilot...Tomtom seems to be a perennial favorite but I've not been
impressed. I use a CF GPS but a bluetooth GPS should work fine too. ALK
has bundles at a competitive price ($300 for CF GPS + Software.)
Or you can buy the s/w for $200 (less if you do a competitive upgrade.)
They've offered upgrades as they've come out for previous versions,
usually at $100...not cheap, not outrageous. The newer versions have
always been worthwhile.

TomTom is only good for on-road navigation, you can use it off-road or fro
hiking - your not find a good solution for road and off-road work other than
the Delorme product (can download both street detail and topo maps to it)
but the street navigation is not as good as TomTom. I use both TomTom on
road and Delorme for off-road (Pocket Navigator is also good for off-road).
As to device Bluetooth of CF card is the way to good - BT needs batteries or
charger to be carried but does not drain PPC batteries (other than BT power)
CF card requires no batteries or charger but drains PPC (need to get
extended battery for long periods of use)
