Since a couple of months, I have linux op my ipaq, but I have never used id
since. Now I got a gps receiver from a friend, so, I have to reinstall
windows back onto it. But somehow, I have lost my backup of the rom-image
files (had to reformat the computer...). Does anyone know if it is possible
to grab an image from another ipaq (which is the exact same model) and use
that to reinstall mine? Thanks!

I believe that the only way to do it is go to an HP Technical Lab. But have
in mind that by installing Linux to the device you have voided the warranty
and the re-burning will be paid for.

Well, I think you could backup the ROM of another ipaq and
install it (just as you would do if you had the original ROM).
I've already heard that, so why shouldn't you be able to do this
with your ipaq?

I thought that maybe serial number was in the rom and that it would give me
conflicts or so. But it seems to have worked.. Thanks for the answers!
