SD card recommendation

I'm looking for a reasonably priced 1GB SD card in the UK for my iPaq 2210.
I want to use it for ripping CD's and transferring music from the desktop PC
to the card on my PPC so a high write speed would be good. (Am I right in
saying I need a high write speed card for faster synchronisation either with
the USB cradle or bluetooth or is the limiting factor the synchronisation
software in which case I'd be throwing money away for a high speed SD
card?).

Can anyone recommend a card and a supplier in UK that will deliver before
Xmas if I order today Monday 20th Dec?

Thanks

Peter,

As for the high speed aspect of your post, the speed of writing is all
relative to your P/PC. Just because you have a high speed card does not
necessarliy mean that your P/PC will be able to do anything faster with it.
In the 2210, it probably isn't going to gain you much.

I'm not in the UK so I can't answer the primary question you posted.

Regards,

with the 2210 (which I think has a cf slot) you might be better off
going with a CF card as they are both cheaper per megabyte as well as
much more reliable and have a faster data transfer rate... note, don't
recommend cf microdrives for ppc's because of power requirements.

As for price, hit both google for best prices as well as monitor ppc
sites such as pocketpcthoughts.com as they almost always post "finds" of
terrific buys for ppc accessories within hours of discovery.

Expansys http://www.expansys.com/expansys.asp and Ebuyer
http://www.ebuyer.com/ have both got stuff to me the following morning
for orders placed before midday. So you should be OK, though at this
time of year it's too late to guarantee anything for certain ;-)

Ebuyer are currently listing a Lexar for £50+VAT. Avoid Sandisk.

Any particular reason to avoid Sandisk ? I'm using a Sandisk Ultra II 1GB
SD Card with my PDA2k and haven't had any problems.

www.digimem.biz is another possible retailer in the UK.

It's a personal thing, often based on experience. I've had problems
with sandisk CF.

didn't know about.

I tihnk it's just that historically there have been a higher than
expected level of duds with that brand, They may have fixed up their
QA now, but the damage is done - Sandisk baiting has become a pastime
for many ;-)
