Just got a HP iPAQ rx 3700.

Running Windows Mobile 2003 SE.

Being a bit of a tinkerer, I would like to change the theme of my PPC.
Microsoft has a "Theme Generator" program. Is this compatible with my
version of Windows Mobile 2003 SE? The download site only refers to WM 2002.

I read somewhere the wallpaper size for my PocketPC will be different
because you also have to allow for viewing in landscape mode.

Any help is greatly appreciated, or suggestions to other programs/sites that
can point me in the right direction would be great also.

Many thanks,

Alex

The "old" theme generator work for WM2003 also however, the new things added
to the themes in WM2003 (like the color of the start menu text) will not be
included.

You can also check the below link for information on how to create your own
themes that includes the new features of WM2003.

Alex,

You can generate Themes that will work with WM2003 using the Microsoft Theme
Generator. However, note that there are some limitations related to the
menu colors and the ability to load the theme directly to your device does
not work - at least I've never gotten it to work. Just save the theme to
your desktop then drag it to your sync folder and it'll copy then with no
problem.

Regards,

Not an expert, but I wouldn't expect any problems. (But then its YOUR
PPC...)

Many many thanks to all who answered my query about theming compatibilities
with Microsoft's Theme Generator and Windows Mobile 2003SE. In case any one
else is reading this thread, I have found a couple of sites that offer
programs that do themes that are fully compatible with Windows Mobile 2003SE
for both VGA & QVGA screens, (see, I have done some research!)

http://www.mcdeb.com

http://www.thememaker.biz

I am in no way endorsing these products for my or the authors' benefit...
just trying to help anyone who has searched the web for as long as I have to
try and find programs for theming.

Thanks again for your help!

I can vouch for ThemeMasker. The tool is excellent and the developer is
top notch and a great guy. He has helped me through some compatability
issues with my program, ThemeMaster. ThemeMaster is a tool used to swap
themes automatically on your PPC. There is a free demo available at my
site.

The McDeb tool is created by created by Kamware as well.
