"yellow key with exclamation mark" etc etc)

i want to know what these mean
my manual doesn't supply that information

From page 9-2 of the English language manual:

none = WEP disabled, no encryption
grayed out key with ? = WEP disabled but encryption is required. This
status requires you to input the correct network key.
yellow key = WEP enabled, data is correctly encrypted/decrypted
yellow key with ! = WEP enabled but failed to encrypt/decrypt data.
This status requires you to input the correct network key.
Two hosts = Ad-hoc mode, WEP disalbed
Two hosts with key = Ad-hoc mode, WEP enabled.

Why did you say?

>>>my manual doesn't supply that information

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that maybe you didn't have
the English version of the manual, and maybe it was different. If you
had the English version, I just figured I'd end up showing that you
had skipped over it.

I find it EASIER to find things in electronic versions of manuals,
because you can do searches. They're meant to be read the same way.
Make sure your monitor is not upside down. :)
