I would like to know what's opinion on these new phones.

I personally like the i9000 due to its super AMOLED screen, but if the UI can stripped with sense it's the phone on the market. The 4G isn't compelling in any way except the sense UI and the 4G.

HTC Desire vs I9000:
screen:
AMOLED vs SuperAMOLED (same res - superAMOLED=> 20% less power, 80% more viewability in bright sunlight)
Video Call camera:
None vs VGA
Processor:
1GHz SnapDraggon vs 1GHz Hummingbird (hummingbird has 3x GPU power of Snapdragon)
Thickness:
11.9mm vs 9.9mm
Weight
135g vs 118g
Battery
1400mAh vs 1500mAh
Screen:
3.7' vs 4.0' (A matter of personal preference)

I'd say the I9000 beats the HTC Desire in every aspect, except for the larger less pocketable screen. I can't wait to get the I9000 - but I may get the Samsung Beam instead with the built in projector :)

I think I was being a bit to enthusiastic about the i9000.

Looks like the camera on the Desire may be better than that on the i9000, which doesn't even have a flash :( - I guess I'll be looking for the i8520 unless samsung makes another phone with 3.7' screen..

Would it be possible to install Sense UI on a samsung phone? :)

It may be possible, check out XDA developers site for the latest Custom ROMs but i myself love to see how i9000 performs(i currently read a preview of it in gsmarena) and also Samsung Beam which has excellent specs as well
