My technophobe parents bought one of these organizers years ago and never used it. Now they want to but couldn't get it to work.

After installing new batteries, the screen comes up really dark. I figured out how to change the screen resolution to lighten it up enough to read the screen but every time I turn the thing off, it comes back black again.

As well, when I can read it, all I can get it to show is:
AAD
ADA
$0
with the little note (meaning the keys beep when you press them) lit along the bottom.

Nothing I do gets me anything else. I read the manual but there isn't a lot of help there.

Is the thing worthless? Maybe corrupted? Does anyone remember these and could maybe point me in the right direction? I've contacted Sharp but it's been days and no reply.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I got the same thing with mine and it's because the batteries died and there is software that needs to be loaded. Now I wish I could find the software, and the computer link cable.
