Phones that use wifi

i have and LG Neon2,the new one, and i just wanted to know if i'm in an area that has free public WiFi or any kind of WiFi, can i use the internet for free?...i know iPhone's and blackberry's can use WiFi connectivity but can a Lg Neon2 use WiFi? please reply...
