Hello,
my router will not provide wi fi on my phone after update to 4.2

What sort of router do you have, i.e. brand/model? Check out the manufacturer's support site and see if there are any firmware updates. If so, try an update to see if that works. If not, it would seem that it is an issue with your phone.
