Iphone Power Adapter Question

Hi Guys
I have recently got a Iphone 4 (First Iphone product), As most user know the usb cable given is quite short.
My question is if i plug a usb extension cord (male to female) from my adapter to my my Iphone usb.
Just not sure on power and that kind of thing as apple seem to have a flaw to most things
May seem like a stupid question but just don't wan have any problems as i don't have money to throw around.

You can use an extention, and I have used many 3rd party plugs with mac products with no issues.

Even mine works without any issues!!
