the legal way?

pay for the "tethering" option to be added to your plan and turn on "tethering" in your settings. you should be able to connect to the connection on your computer in the connectivity dialog.

how to do it for free? i do not condone the following, do so at your own risk:

download an app such as pdanet on a rooted phone. you can then tether for free. some things such as secure websites and email might not work though.

use a rom which has built in tether. i know miui has built in tether without any of the limitations of pdanet/other apps.
