Smart phone charger

Hi
I have an Android 'pc on stick' device that has a micro usb port and needs to be connected to a usb port of a computer or laptop to power the device, ( no separate power adapter was supplied) I was wondering if i could connect my smart phone charger that has a micro usb male connector to power the device?
The device has a separate HDMI out to connect with LCD tv or monitor.

Most USB ports are 500mA @ 5V, So if the output of your smart phone charger is less/equal to 500mA @5V, you can use it to power the device.

I think you can connect my smart phone charger that has a micro usb male connector to power the device and I usually do that .
