Galaxy S3 problems?

Hey guys, Recently my s3 has been randomly shutting down. in the past week or so i would slip the phone in my pocket and pull it aback out later and it would have powered down. sometimes i just put my phone down and it shuts down.

My Questions are:

1. Is this a problem i should be weary of and bring it to a sprint store to see if i can get it fixed/replaced.
2. Is this a common problem with this phone?

Change the battery, install a antivirus software and get rid of any virus if that doesn't work reset to factory settings, reset the phone.
