for gaming hands down Xperia PLAY, sure the galaxy s 2 has a faster chip in it, but the one in the xperia isn't to bad. The fact that it has a controller and alot of developers programmed specifically the deal with it is awesome.

I would wait for the new quad-core phones to be available for consumers. Like the Huawei Ascend D quad or the HTC One X.

the thing with gaming on phones/tablets is that the hardware is advancing way way faster than the software. Look at the games available on android, pretty much everything probly can be ran perfectly with the original nexus one (1ghz 1st gen single core snapdragon, 512mb ram)hardware or worse. Now look at the hardware, its 3 or 4x more powerful than the nexus one was atleast. Heck even on the iphone theres not many games that you can't play with the 3gs. So really super high specs aren't going to do much I would look for better screens and better feel of the phone.

the difference with tegra is that they have thd(tegra high definition) games which is like "the way its meant to be played " except its only available on tegra devices . snapdragon also has a game store called snap dragon game command but with less 3d games . i don't think i can wait for the s3 , it also might be too expensive.

Above mention three cell phones, I suggest you to buy a "galaxy nexus". This cell phone having big partnership from Google and Samsung two popular and trust worthy brands. Moreover, its having good advanced android 4.0 operating system. Its really a very smart choice.
Why don't you think about ipad 3?? Its having good features which fulfill your all requirements.

this thread is old lol , i got a one x for tegra zone , the s3 is actually better overall. i would love the tablet though , but its expensive especially because you have to get the controller separately.

I would say that you should wait for the Mali T-600 series.

Mali-400MP is getting old, however good it seems. It doesn't offer much of a difference
from the Adreno 225, the Adreno 320 is better and the new Adreno 330 will be more than a match for it.

The T604 in the Nexus 10 is the only GPU that can stand up to the iPad (barely); I think that the T658 and T678 will be a major competitor in the tablet department. For phones I think that the T628 will offer some nice performance.

See here: http://www.reviewresults.in/reviewresults/post/2012/09/29/Mali-400-vs-Adreno-320-GPU.aspx

The Adreno 320 in the Optimus G beats the Mali-400MP in the GS3. I would think the slight lead in the offscreen test comes from the GS3's superior CPU (Krait sucks in quad config) but not like offscreen tests are any use for gaming.

I didn't even realize it was from last year until you mentioned before. Someone else had replied to it which bumped it to the top of the forum. Lol.
