What's the best laptop that I can get for £450-500 for gaming? Ideally I'd like to run newer games on medium or low-medium settings, older games on higher. I know that it's not a lot, but it's my budget, I'm afraid.

I've found a couple, but I'm not sure how they'd be. One has a 2.1 GHz i3 plus an HD 5145, whereas the other has a 2 Ghz Phenom II X4 plus an HD 5470. I'm not too hot on graphics cards, by the way.

Anyway, here are the ones that I found, can anyone suggest anything else?

If I had to chose between the two that you listed I would pick the one with the Phenom IIx4 & the 5470. However neither of these laptops can be considered to be a true "gaming" laptop. You should shop around more if you want a "gaming" laptop. I'd look for an Asus G series laptop. They are actual "gaming" laptops and refurbished ones can be found within your budget.

Okay, never mind, I've been able to stretch my budget a bit more, now I can actually afford something half-decent :L
