cheapest 6800 AGP and best overclocker/unlocker?

i have reviewed all of the agp video cards
and it looks like a 6800 would be the best for the money,
especially if it can be overclocked and unlocked.
going from 12 to 16 pipes and
from 4 to 5 or 6 shaders
this thing would rock
and having SM3.0 already supported(partially i cant remember?)

but i need your help
i usually go thru www.pricewatch.com and look for parts there.
i found one on newegg,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814140067
but its only 128 mb and lots of people have made complaints about it.

so i was wondering if any of you had any experience with your 6800, what model, and what your success rate was. and most importantly i really want to buy one, so if you can hook me up with a link to a good card for cheap.

i heard that the asus one was only 128 bit.

any help is appreciated, thank you.

My Previews Card Was A Leadtek GeForce 6800 128Mb AGP 8x ... Very Nice Card ... I Didn`t OverClock Or Unlock It ... But @ Stock , I Played BattleField 2 in 1024x768+4xAA & F.E.A.R. in 800x600 Max + 2xAA ... But I Agree To Save A Little More Money & Then Buy An ATI X800GTO or 6800GS ...

Ah mine is a leadtek, really nice heatsink on it actually.

thnx for the info guys

i'd def like to get a 6800GS, as if it unlocks, it looks as if it will be better than any other cards (for the price range). if i could scoop one for less than $150 i would be a happy man.

please give me links so i can buy one asap!

thanks again!

trusty Ti4200 was showing it's age - so I got a XFX 6800XT AGP 128Mb for AUD$175 (prolly about Yank$130-140)

Unlocked/OCed from 8p/4v 325/700 to 16p/5v 380/790 (even with crap tiny stock cooler - with caseoff I can get RAM to 875 no artifacting, better cooling required but I can't be f***ed). Very happy - keeps my system game-playable until the end of year....

by which time C***** (can't stand hearing that bloody word again) may or may not have come out, but CPU prices will have dropped a fair bit, and Vista will certainly be ... uhh ... closer to coming out, and DX10 vid cards too, perhaps. The only thing that's for sure is that my next system won't be AGP!!

is the 6800GS already unlocked?
or does it unlock more successfully?

basically, i'd like to get a 6800 or 6800GS. you guys are pros and u know all the sites where u can get the good deals. so where can i scoop one of these up for cheap? are they worth getting used? if so, where could you get them used?

i'd like to get a card with SM3, which the 6800 has but the x800gto doesnt. i know u can argue about if its worth it or not blah blah- but dont worry about that. i'm pretty sure i'd like a 6800 unless you can find an x800gto agp for way cheaper.

also, what is the correct terminology of order for the 6800's?
is it
6800 < 6800 gt < 6800GS < 6800 Ultra?

with all of these different model names it makes me nuts to keep track of this - bcs i've been looking for them online and then i see different letters, i want the best card for the cheapest. once i find the best deal i'll post it up here for everyone else to scoop for themselves too

thnx again

In AGP:

6800 XT (8 pipe) < 6800 (12 pipe) < 6800 GS (12 pipe) < 6800 GT (16 pipe) < 6800 Ultra (16 pipe)

In AGP, a 6800 GS is basically identical to a 6800, just clocked slightly higher.

I will post here in 3-7 days :) well at least my impressions :) I have had good luck with Tiger but everyone on the planet swears by Newegg.com and sometimes they are cheaper and sometimes tiger is cheaper (I think Newegg has the best rep though) Knock on wood I have ordered about 2K worth of crap from Tiger and only had one complaint... They took an extra week to deliver my KVM switch :( wich I needed realy badly ! but now its here and works like a charm :)
