8800GTS Unlock locked 2 stream, 1 raster unit in Rivatuner

I'm running riva tuner, and i see 2 stream units that riva says i could unlcok. and 1 raster unit that can be unlocked. everyone says you can't enable them though. why?

Your's are all unlock, you have GTX, he has GTS

I tried unlocking mine with Rivatuner, and it does not work for me. It says that it needs to reboot to enable the settings, but the settings just revert back to normal after the reboot. I ran 3dmark just to make sure and the score was still the same. But then again, it could just be me.

i set them in riva tuner, and i rebooted and they did not revert back to normal! Looks like it worked. How can i tell for sure. its showing 128 Stream Units and 24 shaders! How can i test. Im off to play a game now.

Run 3dmark and compare to scores from before or to other GTS scores if you didnt bench it b4

IM GETTING 50K/S DOWNLOAD SO ITS going to be a while. this is exciting!
i'm running an X2 3800+ @ 2.6 Ghz. think i will see that much of a difference? im really CPU limited.

I have a 8800 GTS OC'd to 600 core and 900 memory. e6600 @ 2.4 ghz, and I get a score of about 9700.

your CPU is way better than mine, you are way less cpu limited than i am. I going to try the origional settings now.

the check marks are on next to the masked units, but it still says disabled after reboot.

Im wondering if riva tuner has not been updated for the 8800 because its telling me 128 Stream units. Too bad. just noticed. im bummed now. Anyway is there anyother way anyone has heard of unlocking? Do they laser cut these things or just disable theM?[/img]
