Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to unlock the 2048 shaders instead of the default 1792 that come unlocked. Is it luck of the draw, or do you need to flip the dual bios switch to one or the other? I pretty much am just wondering if there's any way to unlock the extra shaders or if it's just a crap shoot. (I already determined I do have a 7970 board in it)

Thanks,
Pizzaa

I have heard many tales about this being possible with newer cards but I have never really heard of anyone being successful at it....I do know for a fact that the original versions of the 7950 were impossible to unlock but the rumors are pointing towards the new versions being able to...If I were you type it into google and see if anyone was successful at it.

I typed it and knew that some people had managed to register the 2048 shaders, but they didn't say how or even if they did it. Haven't tried dual bios, mainly because I'm not sure that it would do anything? Anyone else heard of a way that works or if there is one?

usually to unlock cards you take the BIOS of the card you want to turn it into and load it onto the card...so you would take a 7970 BIOS and load it onto your 7950...since your card has the ability of dual BIOS what you should do is load the 7970 onto the second BIOS and try to boot with that one enabled...if it doesnt work you can easily switch back to your original 7950 BIOS
