out of curiosity: any way to unlock p4 multiplier?

is there anyway to unlock a p4 multiplier?! in the manual for my mobo, it talks about changing the multiplier, anyway to even unlock it to enable this feature??? i doubt there is, but it would be cool if i could

NO, there is no way unless you can get your hands on an engineering sample like those the reviewers get.

Yeah there's no way to unlock those multipliers (sucks about Pentiums). so all you could do is to gain FSB in order to increase frequency.

i think if mobo manufacturers really put effort into it then they could unlock the p4's multis, it is harder to do than the athlon xp however. I beleive the multi for the p4 is identified by bits sent to the #reset pin on the processor? I am sure there is a way to isolate and change these signals to assign diffrent multiplyers than those selected by intel...


If it isn't a P6 then it isn't a procesor

I doubt if they'll be unlocked except for the engineering samples.
