Ok so i recently purchased a new custom built pc with a new amd phenom x2 560 black edition cpu (3.3ghz), paired with an asus M4A77T motherboard. So i started playing around to see if i could unlock the two dorment cores.
First time round the 2 extra cores did not unlock. However, after lowering the multiplier so it ran at 3.1ghz upon boot it said something to the effect of "core unlock success!" and showed a small image of a cpu with x4 written on it.
So i thought great! However, upon entering windows and running cpu z, it showed that despite being called an amd phenom x4 B60, there were only two cores.
Any ideas to why this may be?
