Unlocking 6950 to 6970

I want to unlock my Sapphire 6950 to a 6970 but I have some questions

1. Is the life of the GPU really shorten
2. Does it worth it?
3. Do I need a new cooler(Example: Arctic Cooling Accelero)
4. Could something go wrong that can damage my PC?

Don't even try.

Newer 6950's were locked for a reason, infact amd destroyed the extra cores with LASERS.

If you fail at flashing, you can brick your card making it useless.

IMO not worth the risk!

this is 95% true. there are still some dual bios cards floating around on newegg. im not sure what one they are but they are still there i believe. other then dual bios cards i think he is out of luck like you stated.
