My Galaxy Tab A worked perfectly for about a year after I bought it, but for the last 6 months or so it randomly shuts itself off when I'm in the middle of something. I don't understand why it was fine for a year and suddenly started doing this. Please help!!

Solution
I would try to start it up in "Safe Mode" and see if it happens while in there. While you can't run most apps in there, it will help you determine if it is hardware or not. If it doesn't happen in "Safe Mode" then it is likely not hardware but software. I would then check the device for bad apps, virus, malware, etc.

To get into "Safe Mode" please do the following.

1. First turn off the tablet.

2. Next press and hold "Power" until you see the manufacturers logo on the screen, then release the power button.

3. "Quickly" press "Volume Down" and hold it for few seconds until you see the message "Safe mode: ON" or something similar.

4. If you wanted disable it, simply repeat the steps above, and you should see "Safe Mode: OFF" rather...

It goes to the black screen that says Samsung, and it either keeps flashing Samsung on the black screen until i plug it into the charger, and then I guess its rebooting itself and my home screen comes on and everything works again. Or , sometimes it flashes the Samsung on the black screen a few times and then goes to my home screen without having to put it on the charger. Once in a great while it shuts irself off completely to where i have to use the power button to turn it back on, but thats rare.
