I have an LG Rebel. Went to my camera and it says unavailable. Tried to find it in settings with no luck. Can it be reinstalled?

Solution
Cameras are not really uninstallable like that. They are also not listed in the "Settings" usually. Except in "Apps".

First try restarting (turn off and back on) the phone. This may resolve the problem.

If that did not do it, did you try looking in the "Apps", then "All" in "Settings" and see if the camera is listed? Then you can also tap and hold the background of any home screen and in the popup window that shows you should get icons, widgets, etc., that can be added to the home screens. Did you look for the camera icon there?

If the camera is in those areas, but won't work for you, try starting up the phone in "Safe Mode" and see if the camera will work. If it does, then you have a virus, malware, bad app, etc., on the phone that...

If the camera is in those areas, but won't work for you, try starting up the phone in "Safe Mode" and see if the camera will work. If it does, then you have a virus, malware, bad app, etc., on the phone that you need to remove.

To get into "Safe Mode" please do the following.

1. First turn off the phone.

2. Next press and hold "Power" until you see the manufacturers logo on the screen, then release the power button.

3. "Quickly" press "Volume Down" and hold it for few seconds until you see the message "Safe mode: ON" or something similar.

4. If you wanted disable it, simply repeat the steps above, and you should see "Safe Mode: OFF" rather than on.

If it won't start up after all this, and not even in "Safe Mode", then it may well be a hardware problem. For that you will have to have the device looked at by a tech.
