My Samsung galaxy tab 3 is getting hang not responding-

Tab is getting hang and very slow response ...opening application in slow mode

Try starting it up in "Safe Mode". While it will limit what you can access in that mode, you should see a drastic improvement in speed, etc., if this problem is software related. If that is the case, then you will have to remove whatever is the cause, bad app, bad update, virus, malware, app running in the background when it shouldn't, etc. Then restart (turn it off and back on) the phone.

Should it not speed up in "Safe Mode" then it may be a hardware issue. Then I would either contact the manufacturer (if under warranty still) or try a local tech.
