How to unlock carrier?

I just bought an iPhone 7 plus and found out that they still owe money on the phone which they are making payments on. Therefore tmobile won't unlock it. I have straight talk and want to unlock the phone to use my carrier. Is there a way I can do it without waiting for the person to pay it off?

I've watched countless youtube vids claiming that they have a fix but most are just links to websites that look like scams. Any info helping me get it unlocked would be appreciated.

How about r-sims? I've seen that they are sim card trays that when inserted with the sim card, can unlock your phone. Anyone know if they work? There's got to be a way to unlock it aside from waiting it to get paid off.

I'd return it, there is not a lot of good that can come with buying a phone that is not owned by the person free and clear. What happens if they stop paying and T-Mobile blacklists the device?
