Yesterday I got several pop-ups on my phone telling me several of my apps have stopped working, then the phone turned off. Then when I turned the phone on I started getting the pop-ups about the apps failing, and the phone turns off. Now when I start the phone it just tells me that android has stopped working and it shuts off immediately.

I tried taking out the SIM card, and SD card, and it does the same. So I tried a hard reset by using safe-mode and the "wipe data/factory reset" option. Then it does a small process and tells me the phone data has been wiped, but when I set it to reboot the issue still persists and none of my apps or data has been wiped off the phone. But the phone doesn't automatically shut off while in safe-mode.

So the hard reset isn't wiping any data or deleting anything. I've tried hard reset several times with no luck.

You don't actually need to be in "Safe Mode" to do a "Hard Reset". They are two totally different things. Try doing it this way...

To "Hard Reset" the phone...

1. Make sure that the phone is actually powered off.

2. Remove your SD card, if there is one in the device.

3. Press the "Power" and the "Volume Up" buttons, together, until you see the start-up logo on the screen.

4. Once you can see the logo, release the buttons and allow the device to enter the "System Recovery Mode".

5. Next use "Volume Down" button to get to the "wipe data/factory reset" option When in recovery mode the "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" buttons are how to can navigate and highlight what option you need.

6. Once you have selected the "wipe data/factory reset", press the "Power" button to select that option.

7. On the following screen, repeatedly press the "Volume Down" button until the "Yes - delete all user data" option is what is selected.

8. Then press the "Power" button to hard reset the phone.

9. If you took your SD card out in step 2, when the device is up and running again, reinsert the SD card.

If it still won't work, then there is something odd going on with the phone and you may need to either contact the manufacturer (if it is under warranty) or take it to a local tech.

Well I've tried that several times and it hasn't worked, so I guess I'll have to take it to s a shop,
or replace it.

Thanks anyway.
