If you've taken a lot of photos so far this year, the first four digits might explain themselves. The best thing to do is to go into each numbered photograph and name it with something meaningful and group them in folders for ease of find them later.

Backing up photos is a ncessity in case of hard drive failure or other loss. Keep the backup disk in a fireproof box - the one where you store your fire insurance policy.
