Galaxy Tab E 9.6

My galaxy tab E wont take a charge and when plugged in it gets very hot very fast.
If it is plugged i9n I can get it to come on but will only go as far as the samasung logo and stop. then it wont power off. I have to un[plug it and wait for it to go blank.

Is my battery bad. I purchased it on 8/22/17

Sounds like it could be a battery problem. However, if you bought it that recently, and if it was purchased new, then contact the manufacturer. It should still be under warranty.
